11/12 April Round 2 Pinewood - sponsored by K-Slotcar


Saturday’s racing was for Saloon with production chassis - two classes -  everybody ran in the normal Group 12 powered class for championship points, 7 of them also ran in the class for brushless motors up to 4500kV.  Overall winner was Lee Parsons using the same Group 12 car he won with last year.

Lee’s winning Group 12 saloon

Lee, Josh, Simon, Ross and Barry were in both Sunday A finals

Open Group 12

Sunday started with Open Group 12 qualifying, Lee Parsons was the top qualifier, the only one under 4 seconds.

Ron Kiddell won the B final from Peter Kerr.   

Lee won the A final from Simon Scott, Ross Grogan and Barry Gilzean all beating Ron’s time.   Second qualifier Josh Bryant suffered an early retirement from the A final.

Lee Parsons top qualified with a 3.160 second lap just ahead of Josh Bryant 3.177 with Simon Scott 3.344, Ross Grogan 3.460 and Barry Gilzean 3.461 also qualifying for the A final.

Bob Hallums won the the B final from Paul Lyons.   The remaining competitors spent a lot of time in the pits!

In the A final Lee initially led from Simon. Ross passed Simon in the second segment.  Lee was looking good for his third win of the weekend  until delayed by an incident on the main straight in the final segment.  Josh was again delayed by pit stops, but still finished 4th overall

Here’s the winning car - Ross didn’t have much clearance left by the end!
